The beginners guide to meditation.
Meditation for beginners.
If you’re just starting to get curious about meditation, it can seem daunting. There are so many styles, techniques and ways to drop in. And then there’s the actual practice of meditation!
One way to start is to begin by getting clear on what your intentions are. Do you want to start meditating because you want better health, better focus or a calmer mind?
Next, try to remember the last time you went into a calm mental state. Were you running, playing music or focusing on your breath? This can give you clues as to what is more helpful for you to drop in.
Meditation has so many benefits. We see countless research articles on the power of meditation for stress management, focus and overall health. Meditation allows us to drop into a deeper state of awareness beyond the physical realms of existance and see what is beneath the surface. For some of us it comes naturally, but for others it’s a big more challenging.
There are apps out there that you can download like Calm app, or others that help you focus to get into that state of mind.
However, our founder, Dr. Tomasino uses the meditation technique of listening to the drum and playing music to drop in. This state of consciousness is at the deeper Theta state that allows her to access the shamanic realms of consciousness, which helps her to open her clairvoyant abilities.
When you run or play sports, that state of being in the zone is considered the theta state, a brain wave state that helps us to recalibrate belief systems and enter that oneness existance.
Our maestra also uses writing as a tool to drop in and develop her auditory senses. She uses the sense of hearing what she’s writing while she writes to drop in. This is an advanced form of meditation.
So if you’re feeling called to meditate, don’t worry, you may already be doing it! Check out some new apps, youtube videos or events in your area that offer guided meditations to drop in at and see where your healing process takes you!
